waaayy back in February, I mentioned this guy, Brother "T" from church in a post titled Hung Up...

So around the first week in February, I let this nigga drive me in my car to this church event we had out of town. Long story short: he kept GUNNING my engine and eventually, broke a rod inside of my motor.

All the Motorheads (an uncertified, self-proclaimed mechanic from the hood) told me that I might as well buy a new car because my repair costs would be around 2 or 3 grand. -_- ugh.

Luckily, I know a guy who knows a guy and found someone named "St. Louis" who would replace my entire engine for around 600 dollars.

Awesome, right? No. not at all.

I dropped my car off at St. Louis' garage on January 10th.

Which was basically a month ago.

He's been giving me the run-around ever since.

I go to check on everything last night and guess what? I had to pay him 60 MORE dollars to get pieces to the engine.

I'm soooooo over it. I really need my car and I'm going CRAZY without it.

He says it's gonna be done by Sunday.

Whatever.

New Year + Old School...

Happy New Year! It's 2012 and from what I can see: it's going to be a year of change. Now, I know everybody's all optimistic about making resolutions and blah blah blah but I really feel like this year is... mine. I'm going to achieve so much this year. Not because it's a new year, but because I finally have my mind made up on what it is I want.

And that includes being a better boyfriend.

I'm not gonna get all mushy. But I truly have a good man in my life. Rob makes me happy. I love what we have. He keeps me balanced. I keep him in line. We like it like that. So I'm trying my best to fulfill my role as his partner.

And I guess the same goes for him. I told him not to lack on his responsibilities at the club just to lay up with me. I'm going to be here at the end of the day so go take care of the business, babe. But, eh, we're working on it, you know??

I Love You, Race Cooper!

So one of my duties as my pastor's assistant is to take care of guest preachers when they come. This one in particular ran a 3-night revival at church and it was pretty darn awesome. Anyway, earlier this morning (at the ASS CRACK of dawn, mind you) I had to drive him about 45 minutes out of town to the airport to catch his flight back home.

We had small talk.

It dawned on me that I only know his last name. I need his first/last in order to check him in at the terminal.

Cogito: "by the way, I need your first and last name so I can check you in when we get there.

Him: "Richard Cook".

Cogito: (I say in my head) "hmmm... Kinda like Race Cooper..."

(and I keep that in mind as we continue talking).

Imagine me driving down the highway, with flashes of this sexy mofo in my brain (see below).

When we finally get to the terminal...

Cogito: "Hi, I'm here to check-in for Race Cooper".

Terminal Guy: "I.D. Please?"

(Richard pulls out his I.D.)

Terminal Guy: "Uh... You said his name was... Race Cooper? Because this says something different..."

Cogito: (light-bulb clicks on above my head) *gasp* OMG, I MEAN RICHARD COOK!

Terminal Guy and Richard give me the ?????? face.

*sighs*

I laughed it off but as soon as I got back to my car I was like dayumn, really? I can't slip up like that. Imagine if someone else knew whom I was actually referring to? That'll blow my cover for sure... (no pun intended).

But can you blame me? All the pics in tonight's post are some of my favorites of Race Cooper. He's soooo fuckin hot and he is quite the performer.

My Kryptonite...

Earlier today, I was babysitting my nephew. He's adorable. Around 1 and a half years old. He's learning how to say words now. "Mama" and "Stop" are the most complex words in his vocabulary, but he's working on expanding that. In his efforts to do so, my younger brother (his dad) has been teaching him a few new words... What kind of words, you ask? Curse words.

Of course I don't approve of this, but he's not my son, just my nephew. And I know my boundaries. But I've warned both of them of one thing: should I EVER hear my nephew cursing, I'm going WWIII on him. It's disrespectful to use such language in front of adults. I still don't curse around the adults that I grew up around.

All of that to say...

I caught my nephew trying to plug in the lamp in the living room, and I almost lost it.

*Gasp* RJ, get away from there, RIGHT NOW!!!
RJ: aw, shit! (at least, that's what I thought I heard him say).

Me: Come here.

He inched closer and closer to me until he got close enough to my face.

And then, just as I'm about to spank him...

He plants a kiss right on my cheek!

Suddenly, I wasn't pissed anymore.

Then he says to me: Unc-Unc!

And my heart melts...

Then I realize: Rob does the same thing! When he knows I'm pissed at him, or am about to start something, he plants a wet one right on my lips and the rest is history...

The World Just Got Smaller...

So... I mentioned Benny in a post a while back. He's the Public Safety Officer in one of my classes. We've got great chemistry and I get really good vibes from this guy. Actually, Rob is a bit jealous of this guy so for Halloween, he decided to dress as a Police Officer. Yes, it was really hot...

Now that you're up to speed.

This past Tuesday, our class was divided into two teams and had to do presentations. I'll spare you the details. All you need to know is that I did my THANG on that assignment! What can I say? I'm a freakin' savant...

After class, Benny struck up a conversation with me (he just wanted some face-time if you ask me). And after a little small talk, he finally says to me:

Benny: You know, we've met each other before, you and me...
Me: ???
Benny: You know I also volunteer as a Paramedic, right?
Me: ????
Benny: The week before this class started, you had an asthma attack over at your grandma's and I was one of the Paramedics that came.
Me: (after thinking for a second)... Hmmm.... O wait! Are you the one who I told to "mind his damn business"???
Benny: That's me!

(See, because they had the Oxygen mask on my face, they told me not to talk. They asked my grandmother to spell my name and she was so fucking frantic, she forgot how to spell it. And I say to her "you've known me for 21 years and you can't spell my NAME??? It's only 9 letters long!". And when I said that, we kinda got into an argument. Once the paramedics FINALLY got the point that I was NOT going to the E.R. with them (I just needed some Albuterol right quick), they packed up their equipment and were heading towards the door. The last Paramedic to leave out of the door turned around and says to me: "be nicer to your granny, man". To which I replied "mind you DAYUMN bidniss!" the rest is history).

Me: OMG!!! That is soooo embarrassing! Look, I was already pissed because I couldn't breathe. Granny and I go back and forth like that all the time. It's really harmless...

Benny: I was like damn, he's FEISTY!

Me: You don't know the half of it...

So when I get to my car, the first person I text is Rob, of course. Now he's even MORE on my case about this nigga. Like I said, I like to be honest in a relationship because I expect the same. And I'd hate for Rob to find out something like this after the fact. In reality, Benny is totally safe. He's fine as hell. But... I gotta man, ya know?

Is it just me, or does the world seem much better when you're happy? I don't mean "happy" in the sense of you walking around with a big Chestercat smile on your face, or one of those annoying "balls of sunshine" happy-campers...

I mean "happy" in the sense of you knowing that you are absolutely content and/or satisfied with your life. Sure everything is not perfect, but it's far from being a nightmare. I'm having one of those days where I reflect on my life and for the first time I've realized that I'm... well... Grateful. For everything.

And when you're happy: food tastes better, water is wetter, (dick is better and ass is bigger), songs play louder, the world spins faster...

Okay, I'll stop talking like a bumper sticker...

But real talk: look at your life and ask yourself if it's really that damn bad? Keep in mind that someone, somewhere, would LOVE to be in your shoes. Hell, some people don't even have any feet to wear shoes in the first place...

So I came across this hella cool website that promotes and encourages people who are "in the closet" to come out as well as people who are already "out" to share their coming-out stories as well as offer advice on how to do it. I admire these guys n gals so much for their bravery to stand for what they believe, even at the expense of close relationships with family and loved ones. As I said a long long time ago, I was "out" before. But a whole lotta things happened and now I'm back in. I guess I'll do a post about it later. But I can identify all too well on the pressures of hiding who you are from your family. And what surprised me the most when I did come out was that the ones who I thought would go ape-shit about me being gay-- they were the most supportive and vice versa.

Yeah so in my Leadership class, there's this black guy in there named Benny. And when Benny isn't busy gazing into my eyes in class, he's out keeping the mean streets safe. That's right. Benny is a Public Safety Officer. And a fucking damn hot one, at that!! I really, really, REALLY have to stay away from this one. He's got the body of... This guy below (minus that stupid face, and a bit darker, but the same bald head and he has a mustache).

Something that has always annoyed me is the whole Down Low Brothers thing. I think the media portrays it as some really seedy, "football practice after dark" type of situation. I've seen plenty of movies where guys give there women AIDS or they ruin there (already crumbling) marriage, or something equally tragic. Don't get me wrong, these are some solid realities that often do happen.

But damn.

If Janet Jackson coughed one more time in "For Colored Girls" I was gonna scream. #JustSayin if you've seen the movie, then you know what I'm talking about.

For me, I... kinda like the adventure of noticing a guy, playing the "games" to see what's what, and finally bagging him in the sack (pun intended).

Not that I do this often. Before Rob and I, I had my share of flings, but I wasn't one of those creepers who loitered around the men's bathroom tryna make eye contact with you. Smh. Can't I piss in peace???

I guess what I'm trying to say is that there is still something... sexy, about "the chase".

When I look back at how Rob and I played so many games with each other, I kinda miss it. How he'd be gone for a week or something and I'd tell the bartender "tell Rob I said have a safe trip and I'll see him around"... Or I'll be on stage and Rob would send a drink my way and I'd give him that lil nod...

I know this ish sounds corny as hell. But it's that guessing element that I love.

Hey Bloggers! I know, I know, I know... I've been getting HELLA emails asking on where the hell I've been. It's been like 2 weeks without a post? Well...

I don't have some fabulous story about being abducted by aliens or on some top secret CIA mission as an alibi for where I've been. Simply put: my laptop charger broke and I couldn't get another one until today. Those lil bitches are expensive. And plus, Rob was being an ass about it. What I love about Shorty J is how he’s not afraid to get down to the absolute core of freakiness. In all honesty, if you’re going to compare Shorty J with anyone, it has to be against himself. I don’t care much for the work he’s done with Cocodorm because it’s just a bunch of Younginz banging each other out like jack rabbits and they let their dicks do all the work. And I may be a bit biased towards Cocodorm anyway because I don’t care for their “models” (and I use that term loosely). Come on, their friggin’ stick figures. Where’s the meat at?? But Thughoverload.com directed “The Destruction of Shorty J” and in my opinion, it’s even better than Shorty J’s work with Blackbreeders (and that’s saying something). Here’s why: I have yet to see Shorty J do a Snowball scene with Blackbreeders (which is kinda disappointing because they really do a great job at bringing full-blown kinkiness to all black casts). Thank the good Lord above that Tuesday came and left with Collette! Rob put her lil ass back on the first thing flying back out West.

After I left the BBQ like I did, I really felt like I needed to just chill and center my thoughts. I was really freaked out by the whole situation. And now that I look back on it all, I certainly could have handled things a lot better. But I would like to say thanks to all my bloggers with your emails/comments with advice because it really did help me out (I luv u guyz n galz!).

That all happened on a Friday. By Monday Afternoon, Rob was banging on my door and let me have it! (not the good kind of “it” either). He was HELLA upset at me only answering his texts and not his phone calls, and for giving him the runaround.

I just didn’t want to mess anything up. From what I knew, I was Rob’s first boyfriend and I didn’t want to come in between the close relationship between him and his mom.

After a good 10 minutes of him yelling at me (which, as you ought to know by now, only turned me on), I finally broke it down to him.

Me: ...I think she’s onto us...

Rob: ???

Me: (I filled him in on the whole Kitchen scene).

Rob: why couldn’t you just say this in the first place?

Me: well, how was I supposed to come to you with something like this?

--awkward silence—

Rob: I know my mom can be kinda pushy sometimes...

Me: “pushy”? Did you NOT hear a word I just said? I pretty much told your mom that I’m getting boned by her son! Why the hell is everybody acting so fucking NORMAL?

(as I proceeded to cuss his ass out, he interrupted me)

Rob: this is exactly why Stephanie and I broke up.

Me: ??

(if you’ve been following our soap opera: some hoe named Stephanie was Rob’s fiancé at one point).

Rob: what should’ve been the happiest times of my life was actually the most confusing.

(Turns out, a few weeks before the wedding, Rob still had these buried, suppressed homosexual feelings that bubbled over to the surface. See, it’s always been Rob, his two other siblings, and their mom for as long as Rob could remember. So they had a very close Son/Mother relationship. When all this hit the fan, he told his mom why he couldn’t go through with the engagement. Stephanie could somehow feel the distance between her and her hubby-to-be and when she confronted him about it, he gave her some Donnell Jones “where I wanna be” type of excuse. That was back in 2004. And the rest is history).

And once he filled me in on this, I blew the FUCK UP. Um, how could you NOT tell me that your mom already knew about you being into guys? I could have really used a heads up or something.

You know, somewhere in the 2 WEEKS you knew she was coming: “Oh, btw, I came out to my mom a long time ago”.

*sighs* he made me look like such a fucking IDIOT. So yeah, I’m pretty pissed off at Rob but I guess I’ll get over it eventually. He definitely just lost a few Gold Stars though...

I mean, damn. No wonder Collette was acting so regular; she thought I knew that she knew...

I hadn't talked to Collette since the BBQ and I thought to give her a call and clear the air, but I still don't know...

I'm sorry. My pride is not easily disturbed. But when it is, it takes a while before my Pissed-Levels lowers.

I guess I can't blame Rob for everything though; I could have handled the situation better...

Help!

So of course it’s Labor Day weekend. And I’m running around with my head chopped off. I spent most of my morning over at my Granny’s house cooking/cleaning/preparing dishes along with her and my cousins. I was pretty much their little bitch until around 3 when I snuck out and drove over to Rob’s house. His mother came into town to visit so we decided to throw a nice lil barbecue at his place. A few of the bartenders, some of the poets around town, mutual friends we “rub shoulders” (network) with; nothing major.

But for all intents and purposes, of course it has to look like I’m just another visitor over at Rob’s house.

And for the record: Rob’s mother (Collette is her name) is an absolute DOLL! She’s a real sweetheart!

When the Deviled-Eggs ran low outside, I was already in the kitchen making some more of them (it’s like my Signature thing that everybody tells me to bring). After a while, I look up and Collette is walking into the kitchen, washing her hands and tells me she wants to help. The two of us really hit it off really well. We chit-chatted for the longest and got a better feel for each other. But I could tell that she knew what was up. I could just feel it.

And finally, this happened...

Collette: oooohhh lawd... Look at that lil floozy in my son’s face...

(I don’t look up from the bowl of boiled eggs we were peeling).

Collette: you see her?

Me: Oh yeah, that’s Ashnee out there. She’s always in his face...

Collette: (under her breath) ...always in his face...

Me: ?? (of course I’m playing stupid)

Collette: ...and I see the way you look at my son...

Collette: the last time Rob was this happy, he was with his fiancée Stephanie.

(Remember Rob came verrrryyyy close to being married, but the two of them split. He still won’t tell me why though. Read my post "Best Head Ever! (part 2)").

Me: (I was stuck; lost for words; kinda scared. Like damn, she’s bold as fuck to bring it up like this). In my mind, I’m like “well, since the cat is out of the bag...”

She was nice enough to wait for me to gather my thoughts.

Collette: come on Hun, finish peeling those eggs. We’re just talking...

Me: Mrs. Orland, Rob is very special to me...

Collette: How long?

Me: going on 3 months now...

Collette: I love my Son regardless. But it hurts. My son knows he can tell me anything. And you’re a Minister, right?

(While I start stammering for words, Rob walks in from the patio and sees us talking).

I’m hoping he would pick up on the obvious tension between his mom and I, but Collette put her game-face back on and started acting really regular like we were just discussing the weather or something... So damn, I had to do the same.

*sighs* Rob can be so damn oblivious sometimes... He grabbed a bag of ice out of the deep freezer and went back outside, cheesing at the both of us on his way out...

Collette: are we out of Paprika?

Me: I think it must’ve fallen out of the bag. Lemme check my backseat...

I never went back in the house. I really don’t know what to say to her after that. I’m hoping she doesn’t bring it up to Rob without me being there. Hell, I don’t even know what to say to Rob.

“Hey, by the way, Bae, your mom and I were talking. She totally knows we’re together. And she’s pissed that you didn’t tell her you’re into guys sooner...”

Like, wtf...

*sighs* and this all happened like a few hours ago. She’ll be in town until Tuesday. I really want to finish the convo with her, but to be honest with ya’ll, I’m freaked out. I’ve never had to deal with this before. But I guess part of growing up is facing this type of ish, right? That doesn’t mean I have to LIKE it, but I will have to DO it.

I had to take a break and share this with yall.

I keep getting “where the hell are you” texts from Rob. I’m about to give him a call and... talk... I’ll tell him the smoke from the grill was getting to me but I didn’t want him to spazz out so I just left... That’ll keep him at bay until I can think of how to bring the Kitchen Scene up to him...

Side Note...

Hey Bloggers! I've been getting emails telling me to get well and i'm glad to say that Cogito is back in the game! Between Rob and Granny, they had me back up on my feet in no time. I've just been so busy getting all this friggin' financial aid crap together (I just switched Universities) and of course, church is always time-consuming.

Which brings me to the point of this post. I've been asked many times about my, um... "double-life" (if you can call it that). I mean, the fact that I'm a super-duper church-boy by day and a super-duper porn-freak by night. And I've argued/explained this before but a really good E-Friend of mine asked me (via email) and for the first time, I was able to give him an answer that even I understood. So, I though I'd let you all in on it.

Here it is:

I am fully aware of the major contradictions in my life. As a fellow man who likes men, I'm sure you can understand the internal struggles you had to deal with early on before you were comfortable with your sexuality. I came to Christ at age 14 (on my own free will; I wasn't "raised" in church). By the time I finally started to accept Christ into my life, I had already been aware of my sexual orientation. That's not to say that I was OKAY with how I felt about guys, but I knew that it felt natural. So, knowing how I felt about men, and knowing what God said about homosexuality, I had to make a decision: God or guys. God won the decision when I got ordained as a Minister at 17. I've prayed and prayed and prayed for God to literally TAKE the homosexual desires away from me, but He didn't. No matter how hard I tried to ignore my feelings toward men, it would never leave me. And aside from homosexuality, I've had my own questions with Faith and God. Since, then, He has proven to me that He does indeed exist and that He loves me. Through time, I've realized that He loves me, and I am SURE he wouldn't give me something that He "hates".

And you know what? I didn't realize ANY of this until I started my blog. Once I was able to write out my feelings on Men and God, I was able to see, just like the rest of my readers, the disconnect in my lifestyles. But, I'm no longer that teenage boy who's conflicted with sexual desires and religious beliefs. It may sound crazy, but I'm at peace with who I am as a person, and a servant of the Lord.

And you're absolutely right, I would NEVER preach on Homosexuality (because I live it). But I would never preach on anything that I have not yet conquered. I am a man who likes to preach from experience. So, things like Homelessness, loneliness, fear, temptation, etc. those are the kinds of topics that I have preached and do preach on. I love God with all of my heart, and He comes first. But at the same time, I am a man, with desires and feelings... Those desires and feelings just happen to be towards men. And I suppose I'm able to talk about both areas of my life so casually because I'm finally at peace with both of them coexisting.

But I'll let you in on a little secret, Teddy: I know that one day, I will have to make an ultimate decision: live the typical "life of a minister" with a wife and kids, or settle down and marry another man.

Sometimes, I'm just as confused as my readers are!

...What A Lovely Way To Burn...

For some reason, I'm really apt to catching head-colds and upper-respiratory infections (blame it on the chronic asthma). And I'm so used to not feeling "up to myself" a few times out of the month.

But dayumn.

Sinus Headaches; my fever is 102 and none of the home-remedies seem to break it.

(I said all of that to say)...

I'm stuck on my couch, head pounding like Mike Tyson, going through Kleenex like hell, when Rob sends me a text. Asks me how I'm feeling (I've quarantined myself from the rest of modern society until further notice). It's been about 3 days now since we were last together and other than me draaagggiiinnnnggggg my ass to Bible Study on Wednesday, I haven't been any further than the shower and the kitchen.

So I text him back: "eh, kinda. Granny made me some Chicken Soup with Stars so now I'm just chillin"...

Rob: "I'm at Krogers getting a care-package together; can't let Gran-Gran outshine me ;)"

--sighs--

By the time I woke up and read that text, he was already knocking at the door. His crazy ass gave me a peck on the lips and I'm like "okay... if you get sick..."

You know how you never notice the mess you've made until someone else comes over? Yeah. I start grabbing balled up tissues and sweeping up Cracker crumbs from the couch... All bad. Can't let my baby catch me slippin' like that again.

(lemme rap this up; these Tylenol PM's are kicking in)...

I took a steamy shower, popped the last pill in my Z-Pack (an antibiotic for the upper-respiratory infection) and I look up to find Rob still sitting on the couch. (and my headache is giving me HELL).

He made my bed; laid me down, rubbed some Vicks Vapor Rub on my feet and put socks on them.

"My not help the headache, but keep rubbing this on your feet and KEEP your socks on; you'll open up after a while".

He puts the back of his hand onto my forehead and jumps back like he touched a hot skillet. Cheezy, but cute.

As he walks out the door, he tells me: "you gotta AT LEAST be running 103; if you're not feeling any better by the end of tonight, I'm dragging yo ass to the E.R.".

(fast-forward).

Just now, he sent me a text message of the Heat Mizer with a bunch of ???? underneath.

Lmao, I get it, I get it! Even on my sick-bed, he can make me laugh.

I text him back that I'm feeling a bit better (obviously, I'm writing this post, right?)

He responds: "k; I'm gonna call u in the A.M. Let me know if anything changes".

I text back: "...what a lovely way to burn..."

I have GOT to tell you all what happened to me the other night. Here it goes:

Okay, in my ignorance, I thought "Poz" was slang for "deposit" as in some kind of Bareback-Fetish video. I thought it would be hot because there's a special place on my right hand for BB porn ;)

I won't bore you with the details on Rob masturbating because he didn't; when I saw him whip that dick out, it was curtains for him (I couldn't help it!)

BUT, afterwards it kinda stuck with me like "damn, I've been missing out on this whole Poz-Party business..." and so I did a Google Search just for my curiosity...

Google directed me to Urbandictionary.com and guess what they told my black ass???

The word "Poz" does not stand for "deposit" (FUCK, I'm such a dummy for this)...

A Poz Party is when a group of HIV+ Men have unprotected sex with HIV- Men in order to infect them with the virus. Apparently, they see having HIV as a rite-of-passage, a badge of honor for any proud, respectable gay man.

Do not misunderstand me: I have no problem with HIV+ people AT ALL.

What I have a hard time understanding is why the #*@*&@^$%^!@* people contract the disease on PURPOSE??

So a positive HIV status somehow makes you more of an "officially gay" man?

Silly me, I thought it was the dick in your mouth and the stink-face you make at the thought of VaJayJays that made you gay... (and using the word VaJayJay instead of Vagina)

Keep It On The DownLow

So, we've been hella busy for the past few weeks. The skinny version is that an up-and-coming group of rappers (and I use that term very, very loosely) from out of Detroit, decided to rent out Rob's club to shoot a music video there. It sounds really cool (and it is) but dayumn... sooooo much work has to be done! They already have a camera crew available and stuff, but they wanted to shoot this video like yesterday. They are trying to rush our (already fully booked) list and throw a few extra dollars in it. This means cancelling the Mayor's Galla Event, two different Wedding Receptions, a Bachelorette Party, and a few other events (and dammit, I was looking forward to the free strippers!)

Blah blah blah...

Other than practically becoming the manager of Rob's joint, things have been going... smoothly as it can, you know? I had to let his ass know that not only am I completely booked up until the middle of September with church events, but I can't juggle that AND help manage the club. Bless his heart, he's such a friggin' Meat Loaf though. What is a Meat Loaf, you ask?

He's always like "bae, how do you spell (insert 8th grade spelling word here)"

But the good news is that the sex is getting a whole lot better. I didn't wanna scare him away with my levels of freakiness (and we all know how kinky I can get), so I let him take care of all the Kink in the bedroom (kitchen, hallway, backseat, behind the bar, etc.)

Not only that, but I know that I feel a certain kind of way about him. I have very strong feelings for him; do I love him is the question? too soon to tell? Maybe I'm just rushing things, but...

He doesn't have to tell me that he loves me; I can see how he looks at me (hell, everybody sees how he looks at me). He's no good at the whole "let's keep it on the low" thing...

When I'm on stage doing poetry, if I look out into the crowd, all I see is... him... When I'm out of town on business, the only person I wanna talk to is... him... Wondering what he's doing; who he's with (those HOES be all in his face... smh... if only they knew how much he likes to suck dick... hell, prolly better than them... #justsayin)

And I trust him. Period. I really don't think he'd fuck around on me with anyone.

He does know how to check me when I'm getting out of line (which turns me the fuck ON).

So, enough of my sappy love-crap...

Until The End Of Time...

...I wonder some things...

I really do want to have children some day. Not that I have anything against adoption, but I want to make a few babies the old-fashioned way. Alas, the dilemma: laying with a Woman. Fuck it, I may have to just pretend she's Idris Elba the entire time...

My baby (Rob) is out of town for a class reunion so I'm here at my place, all alone... And it's on nights like these, when my phone isn't ringing, nothing good is on t.v., and all the chores are done-- it's nights like these when I'm free of any distractions--I'm left to the thoughts that linger in my head.

For example: don't ask me why, but lately, I've been so self-aware of my own mortality. I guess because I've had to serve at 3 different funerals this month, but Death always puts Life into perspective. I ask myself all the time "if I were to drop dead right now, would I go to Heaven or Hell"? I like to believe I'm a good person. And aside from that, I strongly believe that God does not hate Gays (contrary to what some stupid FUCKS like to think). God reciprocates the love that we give to Him; so if I love Him as much as I do, then His love for me has to be exponentially greater than mine (John 3:16 much?)

*sighs* eh, well, I'm not going to boor you any longer with my ramblings...

Ground Rules

So, Rob and I have decided to give our relationship a chance. After that helluva night at the club, we hadn’t really had a chance to kick it because I’ve been so busy traveling to different preaching engagements and whatnot (summer is always my busiest). But while I was away, we were practically glued to the phone with eachother. It felt kinda nice to feel, um... Wanted, again, you know? To know that there’s somebody out there who actually gives a damn about what I’m doing with my day (and vice versa).

Listen, he’s 30+ and I’m well beyond my years in my early 20’s. We’ve both been through some shit so we decided (rather, I brought it up and he co-signed) to go ahead and get some of the drama out of the way by setting some Ground Rules on what we want from eachother and ish like that.

1. 1. We come into this thing knowing that we have busy lives; but we will still be adamant about canceling dates/engagements (if possible) when it’s time for US! And when we absolutely can’t get out of something, we have to accept that.

2. 2. If you feel like you need to cheat on me, we ought to just end it right there. It’s different if we broke up temporarily and hooked up with somebody, but if I’m saving myself for you, I expect the same in return.

3. 3. When we do go out to a club or something, who cares about dancing with other people? That’s what we came to do, right? It’s just dancing...

It's not that I've never been attracted to women. There are some drop dead ass gorgeous women in this world. I can recognize beautiful women; I see ones all the time where I say "damn, if I were into women just a little bit, I'd hit that..."

I need to take them bad boys everywhere. Anytime I’m in a mood I need some melodic treatment. If I don’t have them with me I feel naked. I have to be able to play my music anytime and anyplace.

3. My homie, by best friend. Me and this chick have been tight for a few years. Nobody, but probably my ex, has

4. Family.

Do you know anyone whose bullshit you put up with simply because of your infatuation and/or relationship with that person? I think there's a certain level of things we're willing to accept (and dish out) for the sake of a relationship.
Not just an intimate one either, this can be a family and friends.

The good thing is that I haven't been "hung up" on any one particular guy for quite some time now... Sure I have my "crushes" but since I've been "doing me", I've noticed my academics are getting back where they were, I'm much more consistent in my Church, and I've even done some "soul searching".

...blah blah blah...

I said all of that to say: I'M READY TO GET BACK IN THE GAME!

1. Lance-- we've known each other since what, 3rd grade I think? After I moved back up North, we reconnected and have been kicking it with each other off and on since then. I've never "tried anything" with him because I really have a genuine love and care for our friendship-- I'd hate for something like that to ruin what we have. 2. Brother "T" from Church-- Wow, we've definitely had our adventures together. As our Pastor's assistants, we travel with him during the Summer to preaching engagements out of town. On one particular trip to Detroit, "T" and I had to share a hotel room (perfect ingredients for a disaster, right?). He slept in the bed and I slept on the Futon (did I spell that right?). What you need to know is that I love "T" like a brother. In my heart of hearts, even if something ever did "spark" between us, I wouldn't move on it because it'd feel so weird. But we have this natural chemistry that attracts us to each other; we "get" each other, you know? Hell, while writing this very post, we're Instant Messaging on Facebook about the most random shit... We always have small talk like that...

3. Quentin-- I have tried all my "moves" on him but this negro won't budge! We've had maaaaaddddd conversations about deep, prolific subjects (he's such a Black Panther...) and I'm a complete SUCKER (pun intended) for the Hot Nerd. And to top it all off, he just got this CUTE ASS nose piercing just like his favorite rapper/poet Tupac. I love a guy who is confident in his own abilities, knows where he's headed in life, and has his own "swag" (style). He's all that and then some-- but if he's not straight (which I don't think he totally is), I've accepted the fact that he's "just not into me like that". His loss, right? ....

Well, here’s a list of things that I do on days when Murder in the First Degree becomes an option. I’m not imposing them on you as if you MUST follow them; this is just what works for Cogito, k?

1. 1. TAKE MYSELF ON A DATE.

*This past Saturday, I wanted to go to the movies with ANYBODY but EVERYBODY had other shit to do. And ya’ll know I took myself “off the market” so my Rolodex is pretty empty these days... (Aside from Red, but he’s another post...). So 9 pm rolls around and I thought to myself “hmm.... let me Google the show times...” Next thing I know, I was at the Cinema downtown with Popcorn, Cheese Dogs, Pepsi and Raisinettes—sitting in the back row SMASHING OUT (snacking) watching X-Men: First Class all by myself—and I had a fucking ball! *When I got around the corner from my house, I hit 94 West and drove for a half hour. Blasting Gospel music with all 4 windows down, just CHILLIN!

*Eh, I’m a cheap Date but I enjoyed the peace I found by just “doing me” for the night.

Whenever I refrain from snatching a Bitch up, I treat myself to something nice. A pair of shoes, a new Book, a new game for the 360, etc...

I found a new phone buddy and we’ve been chatting off and on and it’s quite refreshing. To get a new opinion/point of view on an issue of yours and vice versa. Eh, it’s just pretty cool... Especially when they can hold a conversation! (ILY ColdPhoenix!) ;)

7. HMMM... WHAT COULD I DO AT THIS VERY MOMENT TO FEEL SATISFIED?

It doesn't have to be anything major. If I just have a craving for a McDouble, I get my ass in the car and go get one... You shouldn't deny yourself of things as long as they do no harm to you or anyone else.

8. WRITE ABOUT IT.

I never know how I truly feel about something "heavy" until I write it down. By writing/typing about a tough subject, my words and feelings become tangible; I'm able to stare at them on the paper/screen and process emotions that I didn't even know I had... Thank GOD for poetry...

The Deal Breaker

I’m always talking about what turns me one and the quickest ways to get me out of my boxers and blah blah blah.

But I realized that I’ve never really talked about the things that turn me off…

Now, I have something I like to call The Deal-Breaker: When a potentially beneficial situation quickly goes sour because of some unexpected or inappropriate event. (pretty good, eh?)

I have a list of Sexual Deal-Breakers. *sighs* you ready for this?

1. 1. If you tell me some crazy ish like “oooh, suck on my Big Toe” No offense to my Foot-Fetish people, but that’s something I’ve never quite understood. Nigga, if you ask me to put any part of your foot in my mouth… I would feel goofy as hell… And it’s such a huge market for um… “Foot-Porn” as I like to call it.

2. 2. If you’re down there and you’re giving me some Head, why do you feel like you gotta make direct eye contact with me? Like, you’re not even blinking! Damn, look at the wall or something! That’s kinda creepy. I hate it when they do that in Porn too… Don’t get me wrong, a little eye-contact is always good but, idk something about it just gets to me… (this doesn’t completely turn me off, but it is very annoying…)

3. 3. Uncut/Uncircumsized—I’m not really sure why this is such a big market as it is. People are really into Foreskin? You have to peel the dick back like a banana just to get to the head?

4. 4. Dirty Dicks/Ass—come on now, we’re all adults here. I expect you to wash yo azz thoroughly before we get down to business. In fact, if we just got in from the club or someplace where we’ve been sweating (or working up some Body Odor in general) then let’s hit the shower right quick before we cap the night off, you know? The last thing I need is to get ready to go straight Thanksgiving Turkey on some Ass and it isn’t fresh…. *sighs* I just had a flashback…

5. 5. Okay, no offense to my people into Water sports but um… IF YOU EVER WHIP OUT YOUR DICK AND PISS ON ME, WE ARE GOING TO FIGHT! Hell naw you ain’t finna piss on me! (excuse the Ebonics) and NO, I’m not gonna piss on you! EEEWWWW….

And the list gets updated all the time. I hope I don’t sound “high-maintenance” or anything like that but I certainly do have my limit on what I can and cannot take sexually.

I FAILED the TEST (YAAAYY!!) + My New Profile Pic....

So, I was asked to do a set of Poetry for this event in town every year out in the fair-grounds. It’s a local non-profit organization in town that offers free stuff to the public: Haircuts, help with birth certificates, food-assistance, apartment applications, etc.

The woman who asked me to perform had heard my name buzzing on campus a lot and eventually found me on Facebook. After exchanging info, the rest was history.

While there, they had a Free HIV-Testing booth set up. What struck me was that of the 50+ booths that were there, this was the only one that had NO LINE!!

Now, I graduated back in 2008 from High School but since then, I know for a fact that at least 4 of the people I “walked” with have contracted HIV. And the sad thing is that these 4 were not even the most promiscuous of us! These were the ones of whom only had 2 or 3 sexual partners in their life, hands down.

THAT is an alarming fact: it only takes ONE slip-up to catch it (or any other STD).

This was running through my mind as I walked on stage. Whenever I get in front of the Mic, I take a deep breath, close my eyes, say a light-speed fast prayer (Jesus wept) , and then do my thing. But when I opened my eyes, the HIV Booth was still in my line of sight.

So instead of jumping into my first piece, I said “I’m not going to do ANYTHING until I see at least 10 people in the HIV-Testing Site”. (Or something like that, can’t remember it verbatim).

And nobody moved! I don’t know if they thought I was playing or stalling because I was nervous or something like that. People were looking at me like ???? And even my friends were like????

For like 2 whole minutes, it was just dead air. Hell, I was even shocked at what I said. Because as soon as I said that, I had a flashback of the last few sexual adventures I’ve had within the past 2 years alone.

Though I have a strict “No Glove, No Love” policy, I can recall on a few occasions where I didn’t wrap-up. Although I knew my partners very well, I don’t know if they had been as safe as me with their partners, you know?

And all that “he/she doesn’t look like a HIV+ person” is absolute tomfoolery. How the hell is an HIV+ person supposed to “look like”?

Emaciated, sunken-in face, sickly-looking and clinging to dear life? NO! In fact, the woman who was handing out the free condoms at the booth was HIV+ and she looked like a million-fucking-dollars!

…So when nobody moved, I walked off stage and went straight over to the booth, gave her all of my info, and got tested right there! The woman told me I was very brave for what I just did.

I told her it’s not that I’m brave at all—I’m just afraid of what I don’t know.

By the time she was done drawing my blood, like 20 people were in line—including the woman who asked me to come to this shindig in the first place!

After that, the show went off without a hitch! I told everyone with their band-aids on (from getting their blood drawn) to come up on stage with me as I did my last poem.

It was such a good turnout!

It was a "Rapid Test" where the results came within like 30 minutes. Turns out: I'M NEGATIVE! YAAAYY!!! (I was scared as FUCK though, no lie)...

SO, I URGE ALL OF MY READERS TO GET TESTED. NOT ONLY BECAUSE IT’S SUPER-DUPER-COOL (ALL THE COOL KIDS ARE DOING IT), BUT BECAUSE IT HELPS PREVENT ANY FURTHER SPREAD OF THE DISEASE AND IF NOTHING ELSE—RAISES AWARENESS.

AND IF YOU DON’T WANT TO GET TESTED, AT LEAST USE A CONDOM. I CAN NOT STRESS THAT ENOUGH. UNLESS YOU AND YOUR PARTNER HAVE BEEN TESTED TOGETHER AND YOU’RE BOTH NEGATIVE, IT’S THE SAFEST WAY TO PREVENT ANY STD (OTHER THAN ABSTINENCE).

Put it to you like this: if you wanna have a wang-dang-doodle with this guy below, you have to wrap it up! And thank God he has a golden wrapper! ;)

Types of Tops:

1. Total Top—this kind of man is exclusive to PENETRATING during sex (Anally and Orally). He has no sexual desire to be penetrated. Therefore, he does not exchange Oral Sex. For example: Bam A.K.A. Mr. Big

Power Top—one who is known for great skill and especially aggressiveness in Topping. He also reciprocates Oral Sex. For example: Bobby Blake.

3. Service Top—is one who Tops under the direction of an eager Bottom (see “Bottom”). For example: Gene Lamar

The Previous 4 Days Of My Life!

SATURDAY, APRIL 30-- My Uncle passed away earlier in the week. I never got a chance to meet him. He's my Grandfather's oldest brother. Growing up, I heard all these fabulous stories about him and how he used to be a Body Builder and a Physical Trainer and whatnot. So I always wanted to meet him but he had gotten sick within the last few years and with me on my own shit, we never got the chance to meet. This past Friday, his funeral was held in Chicago. I felt like I owed it to him to at least pay my last respects, so I rode down there with an uncle of mine.

Okay, I know funerals are supposed to be sad, and it was. But DAYUMN! One of the Funeral Home Attendants was this tall, dark and PHINE ASS black dude. He had this MidWest Chicago accent that kept turning me on! I kept telling myself

SUNDAY, MAY 1ST -- I drag all 204 pounds of my hungover ass to Church! What? You must not know I came up Southern Baptist? Ain't no shame in my game. Rain or Shine, drunk or sober, you will see my happy ass on the front row Sunday Morning. Not because I feel guilty or even because I'm a total church-boy. It's because I love God, flat out. And whenever I do end up missing church, He doesn't let me forget about it. Only my church-boys/men know what I mean when I say that!

MONDAY, MAY 2ND-- they admitted my black ass into the hospital! I have asthma like you wouldn't believe. Because of the high pollen rising, they wanted to keep me overnight and observe my lung-function. So, Monday was a complete drag... and not just because RuPaul's Drag Race Reunion came on... ;) (Alexis Mateo should've won!)

TUESDAY, MAY 3RD (today)-- Because of the Kunta Kente in me, of course I wait until the LAST FUCKING MINUTE to get my books for the Summer Semester. But, it was all good because the first person I see when I walk in is *drumroll* J!!!!! Yay!!!!!!

He was like "Hey! Good to see you again man!" (okay, I know that sounds really regular, but damn, when you find a new Crush, everything they do is cute). While he helped me find my books, I made sure he caught me staring at his juicy ass...

While checking out at the front desk, we exchange numbers and Facebooks.

As I'm walking out, he comes running his phine lil short ass from around the desk and was like "Hey! We oughta do something for Cinco De Mayo". "You're absolutely right, we sure do. I'll think of something" I said as I winked back to him.

idk if I said this in one of my last posts, but those damn neighbors across the hall moved and took their free wifi with them so I have to bring my laptop aaaaalllll the way out to campus just to blog :(

Because of it being Finals Week, the Study Hall is packed. I can't post pics because I don't want this lil old librarian to walk past and see a big ole' Mandingo Dick on the screen and have a heart attack!

And I really need to vent this time, so... just listen, or... read (you know what I mean).

1. I went to go see Scream 4 and it was the ISH! I HATE scary movies but I have always loved the Scream Saga because it's creative, clever, satirical... and I didn't have to pay for the ticket (I'm cheap, sue me). And all through the movie, we kept hearing a couple arguing in the back row. After the movie was over and all of the lights came on, I look back and realized it was my Ex! You may remember him from waaaayyyy back in the day during posts like "Update On My Dating" and then when it came down to me being Cold, Bored, and Single and I posted about that. So yeah, I turn around and he's arguing with some chick!

I don't have any hard feelings towards him; our breakup was mutual and there wasn't (much) drama behind it. But damn, seeing him argue with someone else helped me realize that it wasn't just all in my head--this mofo is just hard to get along with.

And he says that he has a LCMV (Less Cranberry, More Vodka) made just for me whenever I take him up on his offer to "help him write some of that dope ass poetry".

And these FINALS may not be as hard as I think they're going to be. As I'm reading through my notes, I've actually retained a lot more than I thought. So, we'll see...

Today is one of those days when I really don't feel like being bothered by people.

"I Hardly Ever Fall In Love, But..."

I’ve been getting HELLA emails about my last post, so I’m going to sum this thing up: I’m still torn between coming out to M or not. I really do cherish our friendship and I don’t want to ruin it, but if this is all it would take to screw it up, then it wasn’t much of one in the first place, right? Eh, well anyways, when I make a life decision on this thing here, I’ll definitely let you guys know.

NEXT WEEK IS THE LAST WEEK OF THE SEMESTER!!! But before I can throw a Sausage-Party, I have to study for these EFFING FINALS!!!! Ugh, can’t I just get my Degree already? This damn Religion in America course is going to skin me alive (I’m a Theology Minor), if this Advanced Analytical Research doesn’t already do it. *sighs*

But I guess that’s one of the good things about being single, right? I don’t have anybody to distract me with my studies. Only thing is, this is Passion Week (this is the week that changed the course of World History. Too much to say. Just Google it).

I usually like to Fast during this time. But um…

Me + Empty Stomach + Academics=Epic Fail.

So, I’m sure the Lord won’t mind…

Since I can’t Fast from Food, I Fast from my other biggest temptation. Three letters, one word: Sex.

And let me tell you: the more I refrain from it, the more it comes knocking at my door—literally!

Red Bone came knocking at my door last night at like 4 in the morning. No calls, no texts, no Facebook, nothing. He dropped by unannounced which is kinda rude, especially at 4 am.

I wrapped my blanket around me because I woke up with a Woodie—and rushed to the door like Captain Save-A-Hoe thinking something was wrong—he was banging on my door like he was Five-O!

Luckily, it was just him, Horny as usual; I swear he’s a nympho… I have no other choice but to believe him when he told me he only sticks with “one dick at a time” because it’s the only way to explain why he’s always jumping on mine. (Or I might just have some Good Dick, wink wink).

I didn’t (couldn’t) tell him that I was Fasting; I just told him I’m trying to stay Abstinent for the rest of the week.

I forget that this Negro is a PK (Pastor’s Kid, his dad has a church in Chicago) because he sighed and was like “Yeah, Yeah, it’s Passion Week, I know…”

I expected him to roll his eyes and catch an attitude like he usually does when I shoot him down. I was already coming up with some smart stuff to say…

But instead, he looked me in my eyes and told me he could settle for some Cuddle-action. I see no problem with that at all.

I’m no idiot: I realize this all sounds like some really cute, intimate affair—and it was. But we came into this “thing” telling each other flat-out that this is a purely Carnal relationship. Honestly: I don't feel either way about it. If anything grows from our "sessions" then it does.

I say this with no Ego at all, but-- my Sex Game is just a commodity that comes along with my company. I think I'm a pretty decent "catch".

Plus, as I’m writing this very post, I just received a text from him saying he wants to Fast with me. How cute is that?

But this is all happening so fast. Not only is Red catching "Love-Eyes" for me, but DJ is putting in HELLA work on ya boi (more on him in the next post).

And with Finals, Preaching, and Poetry Shows on my schedule for well into the middle of next month-- I have no time for anyone else!

Okay, well, after the club, we all went out to IHOP. And blah blah blah, we had a great time and all that. We sat across from each other and she kept playing footsies with me under the table. Now, this was annoying to me for many reasons but I didn’t stop her. Idky… So, the night goes on and she’s like “do you have your phone with you? Because I’ve been texting you for a while…” I was still drunk and fumbled in my back pocket for my phone. I opened up the text message and this is what it read verbatim:

“Happy Bday [Cogito]. Let’s cut the bull. I’ma give you some Pussy for yo Bday…”

*sighs*

Many different things ran through my mind. This ALWAYS FUCKING HAPPENS TO ME!! Whenever a woman and I get mad cool with each other, somehow she always ends up wanting to jump my bones! I MEAN, THIS IS THE TYPE OF SHIT THAT STRAIGHT MEN DREAM OF, RIGHT? They can have it. Women have always felt comfortable coming to me for advice and stuff but it never fails… And then, when you turn them down, they’re like ????

Anyway, this was all a set up because she made me leave my car at the Poetry Spot so I HAD to crash at her house. Damn. So, I look up from my screen after reading the text message and she’s being coy. Continuing on with the convo of the table as if nothing ever happened. I didn’t miss a beat. Although I’m not straight, I’m sure many of the same rules still apply: mind games, lies, tricks, etc.

It’s like, I can attract very good women who will hold me down and provide all the things I’m looking for (and willing to give) in a relationship, BUT I CAN’T FIND A HALF-WAY DECENT GUY THAT’S NOT EITHER A HOE, LIAR, ATTENTION-WHORE, GOLD DIGGER, OR SOME COMBINATION OF THEM ALL!

And I even date Fems! That’s the thing! Like, I actually kinda like a guy with a lil “sugar in his tank” as the old folks used to say, lol. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not into Trannies or nothing like that though. And it’s not that I’m saying I’m not into “M” at all—she’s everything I could ask for in a spouse—but she’s a WOMAN! I’m GAY! That just doesn’t fly.

…so to save a lot of drama, I just sobered up and acted like I never received the text message and told her I was sober enough to drive home...

I’m a total Pussy, I know. But hearts are some pretty delicate objects; especially women’s.

Hell, if I just came flat-out and told her I was gay, she wouldn’t believe me anyway (unless I showed her this blog, lol).

She’d probably just think it was an excuse to not sleep w/her because she’s unattractive or something. Far from it, girl. I’m just gay!

Of one thing I am certain: I care about her way too much to just string her along like this.
I think I'm going to have to let her know how I am.
I just hope it doesn't strain our relationship.
And if it does, won't that mean she was just trying to fuck me from day 1?

*sighs* I need a drink…

Since before my birthday, I told yall about my boy RedBone and how he was riding my dick like he owed me money; I've been getting emails asking about him (and us).

Well, we haven't had much time to kick it like we have been doing. When I'm at work, he's in class and vice versa. I'm not really into having "quickies"; I'm more of a wine and dine kind of guy, so until we can actually spend some time together, I've just been sticking to myself.

But, after about 4 months of a drought, ya boi FINALLY GOT DICKED DOWN! And I mean like, professionally!
