Tone Bone

Tone is 26. about... 5'12", light cinnamon skin, cornrow braids, naturally masculine body frame, a Detroit accent, and is a hilarious jokester who always knows how to make the room laugh. He's a professional barber at the shop where I've been going to for 3 years.

In that time, we've hit it off and are now real cool with each other.
I affectionately call him Tone Bone.
Now, mind you, he's cute and all, but I'd never really thought of him "like that".

Although...I would catch myself "liking" some of his old Facebook pics and statuses. Each time he "likes" something of mine, I feel like the white lady who fell out in church in this Vine clip --->>(Click Here)

A couple weeks back, he was cutting my hair and, as with all barbers, struck up a light conversation...
(Paraphrase)

Tone: Man...I heard something 'bout you, nigga!
Me: ...what?
Tone: Man...Pee Wee told me that you be hanging with Cordell n' them...
Me: O...K...? Yeah, That's my big cousin
Tone: Ain't he gay though?
Me: ...that man wears more makeup than a Sephora employee. Of course he is.
Tone: So...do ya'll like the same... "thing" or whatever?
Me: ? Are you trying to ask me something?
Tone: Ain't you a preacher?
Me: ...among other things, yeah...
Tone: *makes the teeth-sucking sound* how a preacher gon' be in church but like niggas too?
Me: ...When I find one who does, I'll let you know.... Askin' all these police questions; are you writing a book report or something?

Forgetting that I just spent my last $10 on food, I told Tone that I could either pay him in Trident Layers, pay him double next weekend. He just had me drive him to Burger King instead.

When I dropped him back off at the shop, before he got out my car, he told me about one time in High School, some nigga tried to make a pass at him and for a split second, he hesitated about stopping the dude from touching him.

I was CERTAINLY ready to talk about that w/him! But someone inside the shop had flagged him down and he had to go...
Tone is just real cool peoples at this point. I don't even think he's DL or anything. And I'm surely not gonna try to put any moves on him.

...but if and when he makes a pass at me... *pshhhh*... it's a wrap!

Just real quick...

Okay, so, I'm about to start actually caring about my other online blogs/accounts. I've always kinda buzzed around some of the popular sites but, other than Facebook, haven't really been "into" anything. Well, it's time to do what all the other cool kids are doing.

Follow me on the sites below and I'll be sure to follow back! I'm still getting the hang of them so bear with me while I get this shit together... And hit me up on 'em too!

Life After College

So...On the 22nd of this month, I will have completed the final course in my BA program and become a c/o 2014 graduate!

I've never not been a student. Straight from high school in 2008, after dicking around a community college for 2.5, I decided to start taking my academics seriously so I switched to a private university and entered the program for my major in 2012.

Fast-forward to today' date. The man I was back in 2008 is completely different from the one writing this very blog post. Not just academically.

I've matured. Though I've got the love life of a trashy romance novel, the many times I've fallen in and out of love--has made me a better lover.

I can now surrender myself to someone without losing "me" in the process.

Taking care of my grandmother after she got sick, it has taught me that true love is selfless, unconditional, enduring, crazy at times, but always worth it.

I've realized that you only treat people as good as you think their value is.

I've gotten to know God on a level so personal that His love is what sustains me on those...quiet, restless nights where loneliness and confusion threaten to swallow me whole.

Maliika has taught me the healing power of friendship. You might remember her from the A Broken Hallelujah (click here) post.

I've learned not to measure myself by someone else's ruler.

I want to take this growth with me as I move out into the real world. I want to look back at 2012, the most trying year of my adult life, and remind myself of how strong I was in the weakest of moments.

I want to BE somebody, damn it!

At the same time, I also don't want to move too fast. I'm ready to leave my hometown, but not until I'm supposed to. Wherever the wind blows, I'll try my damndest to trust the process.

It kinda feels like my entire life, up to this point, has been on "pause".

I don't know what music I'll hear when I finally press "play". But whatever the song...God, me, and you fine folk, will sing it together.

*whew* I cried all through writing this post. I feel so much better.

...any tips? How did you adjust to life after college?

Stud Muffin

So...there's this girl....let's call her...CC.

CC is 27, gorgeous light skin, about 210 lbs, natural hair afro, and is always dressed to the nines.
When she talks, her alto voice has a slow drawl that makes you listen to whatever she's saying. Oh, plus, she's a rapper in my city. She's one of those--Mose Def, Common, Tribe Called Quest--kind of conscious artist. She's got hella talent and can even sing real good!

It's not that she's a stud. She's just...masculine. I know for a fact that she's been getting dicked down by this one dude I used to go to school with, so I know she at least is into men.

For the past few months, we've been kicking it in the same circle of friends and talking to each other at parties or whatever, we've got really great energy together.

At first, I could't quite put my finger on why I was so...intrigued by her. Knowing that my dick refuses to get hard for pussy, I thought I was just tripping last week when I saw her and she was looking kinda...good.

10 minutes ago, I suddenly realized why I feel this way...

I, Cogito, have a legitimate, totally sincere crush on a woman.

It's crazy! Like...she has this masculine energy but still maintains her tomboyish behavior with her feminine ways. As a lover of fem gays myself, I think that CC has the perfect balance of what I'm looking for.

But hell, I'll never try to get with her.

What in God's green FUCK would we do together? Lol! She's gonna bone me with a strap-on and I'm gonna call her daddy? Hell naw...

But it does kinda make me...curious.

By the way, check out this hot ass xtube vid ((click here) by my dude Immanuel over at Dlconfessionssequel.com click here))
